‘Excited To Travel To Bermuda To Inspire Hope’
Bermuda Autism Support & Education [BASE] said they are pleased to welcome model, author and aspiring chef, Jeremiah Josey, who said he is “excited to travel to Bermuda to inspire hope!”
“Josey has been taking the world by storm in the last few years, appearing on a variety of talk shows across the United States, including The Steve Harvey Show. And now he will be visiting and sharing his story and talents with Bermuda,” BASE said.
“The 20-year-old Josey may have Autism, but he has not allowed the daily challenges he faces to get in his way. Josey hosts the popular YouTube channel, Jeremiah’s Cooking Adventure, which has allowed him to tour the United States, cooking and baking with some of the finest culinary artists, including celebrity chefs like Kwame Onwuachi, Duff Goldman, Christina Tosi and Marcus Samuelsson.”
“Josey is delighted that he has been afforded the opportunities he has been given to use as a platform to advocate for others who are also on the Autism Spectrum, allowing others to better understand Autism, promote awareness and acceptance, and to see what people with Autism are capable of doing when given the opportunity.
“As a result, Josey and his mother, Simone Greggs, wrote the book, “Here’s What I Want You To Know,” and Josey has been a model in the Runway of Dreams at the New York Fashion Week, sporting adaptive clothing by brands like Tommy Hilfiger.
“While in Bermuda, Josey will be visiting schools across the island, as well as cooking with a number of Bermuda’s top chefs, including Antonio Belvedere [The Terrace], Michiko Campbell [Royal Bermuda Yacht Club] and Fred Ming.
“In addition, he will be appearing at Harbour Nights to sign copies of his book on Wednesday, June 5th. The highlight of his visit will be a special presentation on Saturday, June 8th, when he’ll be baking alongside Ahmani Peets, owner of Ahmani’s Cookie Company, who is also on the Autism spectrum.”
“I am excited to travel to Bermuda to inspire hope!” Josey shared. “You can’t let your disability limit your ‘ability’ to live your dream.
“I won’t let having Autism define me. I hope I can encourage everyone to hope and believe! I look forward to meeting Ahmani and I am very proud of what he has accomplished.”
The presentation will be held at the Evangelical Church of Bermuda, from 6pm to 8pm. The event is free, and all are encouraged to attend.
