Bermuda Basketball League Season To Kick Off
For the third year running, the Bermuda Basketball Association [BBA] will be hosting the CellOne Elite City League [ECL] starting May 4, 2013.
The league is run very similar to a professional league. The top 72 players on the island made available via a draft, where coaches pick players that will fit into their expected playing style.
“With each year comes new challenges and opportunities,” a spokesperson said. “This year we’ve challenged the coaches by having them protect 5 core players and rebuild the rest of their roster through the draft.
“The two-time defending champion, Bluebirds, look to go for a three-peat. The other 5 teams are playing catch-up, but the Bluebirds are the clear cut favourite at this point.
CellOne is the title sponsor, and the league will once again take place at Somersfield Academy and will now include entertainment services by Trinity Sound. There are still openings for individual teams sponsorship, please email ECL@bermudabasketball.org for more information.
