Football: FA Cup Semis & First Division Results

This past weekend Somerset Trojans defeated Dandy Town Hornets, Devonshire Cougars defeated the Southampton Rangers, Boulevard Blazers defeated Devonshire Colts, Young Men Social Club lost to Hamilton Parish, Ireland Rangers were defeated by to St David’s, while X-Roads claimed victory over Prospect United.

FA Challenge Cup Semi-Finals

Dandy Town Hornets 2 [4] Somerset Trojans 2 [5]
At the BAA Field in the first FA Challenge Cup Semi-Final, Caldre Burgess gave the Dandy Town Hornets the lead in the 8th minute. Terrance Webb doubled the lead in the 66th minute, however in the 73rd minute Ijahmon Mallory converted from the penalty spot to pull the Somerset Trojans within one. Then with three minutes remaining Mallory stepped up again to convert from the penalty spot for a second time to level the score at 2 – 2. The Somerset Trojans completed the comeback when they won 5 – 4 on kicks from the penalty mark to make their way to the final.

Devonshire Cougars 7 Southampton Rangers 0
Devonshire Cougars defeated the Southampton Rangers 7 – 0. Drewonde Bascome led the charge with a hat-trick, while Moses Steede scored twice, Kijuan Franks and Jessie Seymour scored a goal each.

First Division

Devonshire Colts 1 Boulevard Blazers 3
After a scoreless first half at the Police Field, Aaron Williams gave the Boulevard Blazers the lead in the 51st minute, seven minutes later Williams doubled the lead, Eli Smith pulled a goal back for the Devonshire Colts in the 86th minute but in injury time Williams completed his hat-trick to earn the Boulevard Blazers a 3 – 1 win.

Young Men Social Club 2 Hamilton Parish 3
Ian Coke gave Hamilton Parish the lead in the 17th minute, but in the 34th minute Chamari Burns equalized for the Young Men Social Club. Three minutes later Clevon Hill put Hamilton Parish back in front, but in the 50th minute the scores were level again when Shae Butterfield scored. Four minutes later Hill scored his second goal of the game and it proved to be the winner as Hamilton Parish lifted the First Division Title.

Ireland Rangers 1 St David’s 4
At Malabar, visiting St. David’s got two goals from goals from Dominique Lambert and single strikes from Angelo Cannonier and Zachary Morris in their 4 – 1 win over Ireland Rangers. Jessie Mills scored the lone goal for the home team.

Prospect United 3 X-Road’s 4
Tristan Daniels gave X-Road’s the lead in the 2nd minute, but four minutes later Jahnai Raynor equalized for Prospect United. Rico Beek put X-Road’s back in front in the 16th minute, before Daniels scored again in the 40th minute to make the score 3 – 1. In the 58th minute Daniels completed his hat-trick to make the score 4 – 1, but Prospect United tried to stage a comeback with Raynor scoring his second goal of the game in the 72nd minute and Kieran Bennett scoring four minutes later but they could not find the equalizer as X-Road’s hung on for the win.
