HSBC Pro Soccer Clinic Registration Kicks Off
Bermudian Professional Major Indoor Soccer League coach, David Bascome, launches his 21st annual HSBC Pro Soccer Clinic to be held from 1– 5 July 2013 at the BAA field.
This popular clinic is open to male and female players 4 – 16 years of age. The programme focuses on providing players with the opportunity to build on their soccer skills and learn the importance of positive discipline both on and off the field.
Pro Soccer President, David Bascome said, “The HSBC pro soccer clinic has been a part of moulding young soccer athletes careers physically and mentally, we look forward to the 2013 clinic and hope to see you there.”
This year, HSBC Pro Soccer Clinic offers one week programmes for the Kiddy Kickers, Basic Group and Bridge to Success. Application forms are now available from HSBC branches: Harbourview Centre, Church Street, Somerset and St. George’s or on the www.hsbc.bm website, About Us, Community Section.
Kiddie Kickers, a starter clinic, is designed for the Island’s youngest players between 4 and 5 years and introduces FUN-damentals of soccer through basic soccer skills and fun drills during daily one hour evening sessions. Kiddie Kickers promotes parent involvement by requiring that parents or guardians accompany their children throughout the entire training session.
The Basic Group provides players between the ages of 6 – 10 years with the opportunity to build on their soccer skills, become team players on and off the field, learning the importance of positive discipline.
Bridge to Success is open to male and female players aged 9-16 and will give participants the tools to become the model player.
The School of Excellence coed programme will again be offered to 10 selected participants between the ages of 12 -16 from the Bridge to Success. The School of Excellence runs from 8-12 July and involves classroom instruction, soccer training and work experience.
Participants will be coached by David Bascome, top local coaches and coaches from the United States. Coaches from the US will include:
- Mike Williams, Vice President of Operations for Williams Futbol Consultants and former professional outdoor/indoor player and pro/college scout
- Lester Felician Former MISL player, Pro/College Scout
- Danny Kelly MISL Professional and Head Coach for Baltimore Blast
- Shannon Seipp, Former Division 1 Player, Soccer player at James Madison University, Youth Coach USA
