May 17th: Good Bugs vs Bad Garden Seminar

Aberfeldy Nurseries will be presenting “Bermuda’s Back Yard Battels. Good Bugs Versus Bad” with special international guest speaker Susan Wainwright owner of Buglady Consulting.

Ms Wainwright is an Ornamental Entomologist specializing in integrated pest management. She has been involved in the Green Industry for more than 18 years with a primary focus on biological control and using pesticides properly. She is a graduate of the University of Florida with degrees in both Entomology and Environmental Horticulture. She travels internationally consulting to greenhouses, nurseries, landscapers and interiorscape companies.

Ms. Wainwright is frequently published in trade magazines, teaches workshops and lectures professionally to industry groups. She has been a guest repeat guest on Martha Stewart Living radio as well as appeared on Growing a Greener World on PBS. She is the owner of Buglady Consulting.

She will not only facilitate a staff development forum that is being offered to various groups and associated organizations throughout the island, but she will also be speaking at a special presentaion at the Bermuda Underwater Institute, Tradewinds Auditorium on Friday 17th May at 6.00pm. This is open to the general public and will focus on landscape pests and the safe methods of control.

    Will she be bringing ladybugs for us to purchase? These are the bugs needed as shown in the picture. It would be great if they were offered for sale in Bermuda like the USA. But who knows maybe there is a way to attract ladybugs and breed the local population. I guess i better buy a ticket!
