June 1, 2013

Masterkey Management Ltd. has made a clean sweep with its first annual ‘Love Thy Neighbour’ appeal to benefit the Centre Against Abuse [CAA]. The property management company marked its first anniversary by collecting over 1000 needed supplies for the CAA’s safe house for victims of domestic abuse.

Sharika Tucci, Managing Director and founder of Masterkey Management, said “The community’s response has been phenomenal. During the two-week appeal hundreds of cleaning products to maintain the facility were collected from individuals, businesses, church groups and social groups or deposited in the collection box at Lindo’s in Warwick.

“In addition, through our Facebook appeal, Masterkey contributed to the pool of donated items with the assistance of a matching donor. A further donation of three cases of bath soaps pushed the collection total to over 1000 items which has exceeded expectations.”

Laurie Shiell, Executive Director of the CAA stated “We are extremely grateful and thankful to Masterkey Management for this thoughtful idea. CAA also thanks the community for partnering with Masterkey Management on this venture. The outpouring of commitment from the community toward the ‘Love Thy Neighbour’ appeal has made it possible for CAA to have cleaning products for our safe house for many years to come, and we can also provide our clients with a gift bag of products for their new home when they leave our safe house. These everyday items are so essential to the upkeep of our home. Thank You!”

The goal of this year’s ‘Love Thy Neighbour’ appeal was to equip the safe house with household cleaning supplies which are often in short supply. The safe house is now stocked with new scrub brushes, cleaning cloths, rubber gloves, mops and brooms in addition to Clorox, Tilex, Pine Sol, Mr. Clean, Windex and the much coveted Pledge.
