“We are so pleased to be welcoming Container Ship Management [CSM] to the Investors in People family,” states Don Mackenzie, Partner of Management Solutions, which holds the license for Investors in People Bermuda. “This is a special announcement for us as CSM is the first new Bermuda-based organisation to become Investors in People Accredited under the new Investors in People Bermuda Centre.”

“CSM began their Investors in People Journey in 2008 after feeling the direct impact of Bermuda’s rapidly shrinking economy. With a commitment to developing their team and coming through the downturn a stronger organisation, CSM recognised the opportunity of working with the Investors in People Framework. They have already experienced positive results and I’m extremely pleased that we have played a part in supporting their ongoing success.”

Investors in People is a National Quality Standard that defines good practice for improving an organisation’s performance through its people. To achieve Standard Accreditation, CSM was measured against 37 evidence requirements in its business strategy, learning and development, leadership and management, reward and recognition and performance management.

Tjerk Neijmeijer, Vice-President of Administration and Equipment Control led the implementation of the Investors in People Framework within CSM. “The past few years have been intense for CSM, as it has for many organisations in Bermuda,” he commented. “We were determined to use this time to increase organisational effectiveness and to identify and implement processes that would enable more efficient operations, but not at the expense of our team.

“We are not a big team, but we are a strong team,” he continued. “Undertaking the Investors in People Journey provided a framework for strengthening the development of our entire team and ultimately the overall operational performance of our organisation. Its focus on continuous improvement further assists us in creating the opportunity for ongoing growth and development as we move forward.”

“I am extremely proud of every member of the CSM Team and would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank them for their dedication and hard work. We are committed to continuing this journey as we move from strength to strength in offering the highest level of value and service to our clients.”
