Institute Of Directors Doubles Membership
The Bermuda branch of the Institute of Directors has almost doubled its membership from 46 members to 89 members in the first six months since the organization re-launched.
While the organization has added to its membership by 93 per cent, it still continues to welcome new members and this Thursday [June 20] it will hold an awareness event to further educate directors in the Bermuda business community about the benefits of belonging to this well-established UK-based organization and the associated Bermuda branch.
Roger Gillett, Chairman, Institute of Directors Bermuda branch, says: “Membership is the lifeblood of any organization and since we revitalized the Institute of Directors Bermuda branch in January 2013, we have been active in holding educational and networking events for our members.
“Directors running companies today have a lot of demand placed on them and are expected to perform at a professional level. We plan to provide some of that formal training through this organization as well as providing a forum for professional directors to network and share perspectives.”

In July, the organization will hold its first training session specifically for professional directors, which will be led by one of the certified instructors from the Institute of Directors in London.
