Man Denies Causing Pain & Injury To Dogs
A 50-year-old man denied causing pain and injury to dogs in Magistrates Court this morning [June 19]
Sherman Darrell, 50, pleaded not guilty to four charges under the Dogs Act. The charges related to alleged incidents of unlawfully carrying out ear cropping and causing pain and injury to Cão Fila de São Miguel dogs. The acts are alleged to have occurred between a date unknown and November 24, 2012.
Mr Darrell was granted $1,000 bail and ordered to reappear on June 26 for the next stage in the matter. Another three defendants were called, and indicated that if charged they would be pleading not guilty.

If convicted, Mr Darrell and his co-horts should have THEIR ears clipped. AND banned from owning ANY animal ever. These types of people make me sick.

SMH still paying attention to the wardens. For the most part a vet does them it’s supposed to be illegal to have them done locally(depending on who you are). Dogs/Puppies regularly travel overseas to get the surgery return home and its no problem. Good work by the wardens keep opening up new cans of worms that will help have the departments inconsistent policies exposed. Those who know will know what I am talking about.

Gabbs, Know your facts, there are many states in the US that still do this procedure, as well as some other countries. To have your dogs ears cropped or tail docked or dew claws removed is a matter for the owner to decide on, not some do gooder on the outside looking in and running their mouth. Deliverance, you may want to start being sick because there are many breeds of dogs that have this done and many responsible owners that prefer to have a dog that is cropped or docked or both. Get over it.
get over it? it is a known fact that cruelty to animals is a symptom of deep psychological issues which usually manifest themselves in further violence, usually towards humans.
really? going to prison or pay monies for allegedly cutting of a dog ears, well people come to my world. I have two pitbulls and I cut off the ears of the male and it really do look very nice and the posture awwwwww niceeeee some dogs were bred for these procedures people so please don’t condemn a man for allegedly doing what is not a crime
the reason why you cut the ears of Pit Bulls is for fighting. If you are saying that PitBulls are bred for that then you should not own any animal! i can’t wait for the day when these procedure are not only illegal but followed up on and people properly penalized. causing a dog pain and harm for your own amusement is just sick.
Most dogs and including some Pit Bulls ears are cut for cosmetic reasons. I am not condoning it but just stating a fact. Yes I will acknowledge that some breeds ears are cut for illegal reasons i.e. fighting but this is not always the case
