Police Officers Seize Second Firearm This Week
The Police confirmed that they have recovered another firearm, marking the second firearm seizure in a week.
No details were provided about the date and location, however the police said it was recovered as a result of information received from a member of the public.
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service can report that a firearm and ammunition were recovered this week as a result of information received from a concerned member of the local public. This is a separate incident from the man in Somerset found carrying a loaded firearm.
“A forensic analysis of the firearm is currently in progress to establish if the weapon is linked to any outstanding crimes. No additional information can be released while investigations continue into the history of this weapon.
“The BPS takes this opportunity to thank the community for their continued support in tackling serious crime and we encourage anyone who as any information about illegal firearms or illegal weapons in the community to contact the police directly, or to use the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline at 1-800-TIPS(8477).”

You may actually be onto something here! The seed of a successful ad campaign to change the mentality of any member of the public that is withholding such information.

? this is very suspicious the other weapon seized this week we knew who when and where within hours, If this is a PS gun as I suspect due to the limited info made publicly available, and it is connected to PS shootings and this incident is buried, the rumors may just be true, follow this story closely.

Glad the gun is off the street….would have felt even more thrilled if the gun was reported because it was the right thing to do and NOT just for monetary gain……
Its possible this gun was just “found” and maybe not on an individual based on “tip” received hence no mention of anyone being arrested..

Whomever it had been that told the police of this, “life-taker tool” need be thanked and I sincerely do thank you…Who knows if this tool of death had been used in a murder? If it hadn’t, then it being found before we did end up with another death caused by ignorance.
