Rugby: Bermuda Finish 6th In NACRA Cup
The 2013 North American Caribbean Rugby Association’s [NACRA] Under 19’s Fifteen’s Tournament came to an end in Trinidad with Bermuda finishing in 6th in the NACRA Cup. Playing in the 5th/6th Play Off match Bermuda went down 30 – 26 to Barbados.
Barbados got on the scoreboard first taking a 3 – 0 lead with a Brandon Wallcott Penalty, Wallcott kicked another Penalty to make it 6 – 0 and minutes later it was 9-0 to Barbados with a third Wallcott Penalty Kick.
Bermuda got on the board when Trae Stephens went over for a Try and when Stephen Edwards kicked the Conversion it made the score 9-7. Barbados got a Try from Kofi Chase and then Wallcott kicked the Conversion it gave them a 16-7 lead.
Bermuda pulled within four when Stephens went over for his second Try of the game making it 16-12, but Barbados went straight back up the field and scored a Try and when Wallcott kicked the Conversion just before the halftime whistle it made the score 23 – 12.
Bermuda came out in the second half and look to put pressure on Barbados and did just that when Edwards scored a Try and then kicked the Conversion to make the score 23-19, Bermuda then took the lead 26-23 when Gianni Nesbeth went over for a Try and Edwards kicked the Conversion.
Things were getting down to the wire, but Bermuda could not hold on as David Burke scored a Try for Barbados and Wallcott kicked the Conversion for Barbados to record the win.
