Bermudian Man Fined For Crack Cocaine In UK

August 30, 2013

Bermudian Kareem Musson admitted possessing crack cocaine when he appeared before South East Suffolk Magistrates Court in the United Kingdom, according to a report from the East Anglian Daily Times.

The 31-year-old was fined £60 [$92] and ordered him to pay £20 [$31] to the victims’ fund along with £40 [$62] towards prosecution costs.

The report from the East Anglian Daily Times said the lawyer representing Musson said he had a previous conviction for drug importation when he came over from Bermuda.

“He was released from his sentence on March 4, 2011, but had chosen to stay in England as he had been a drug mule for gangs and was scared of repercussions,” said the Times.

    I like the fine system – maybe will should adapt a system like this

    Offense $500
    Court fee’s $100
    National Debt$ $100
    Social Welfare $100
    ———–
    $ 800

    at least the fines would have more substance and meaning.
