Contest III Win 2 Out Of 3 In Granaway Deep

Only three out of the scheduled four races in the latest round of Bermuda Fitted Dinghy Racing took place in Granaway Deep this past weekend.

Peter Miller sailing Royal Bermuda Yacht Club’s Contest III sailed to victory in the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club Cup, with the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club’s Elizabeth II sailed by Jon Nicholls finished second, Mark Soares sailed St. George’s Dinghy and Sports Club’s Victory IV to a third place finish and Sandys Boat Club’s Challenger II sailed by Owen Siese did not start the race.

Nicholls sailed Elizabeth II to victory in the Whitney Cup race, while Miller and Contest III finished second, Soares and Victory IV finished third and Siese and Challenger II finished 4th.

The 400th Anniversary Cup race is sailed between Contest III and Challenger II, with the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club boat defeating the Sandys Boat Club’s boat.
