Photos: 2013 “Soca vs Reggae” At Tiger Bay
High energy was the order of the night, as thousands of party-goers flocked to Tiger Bay in St George’s for the “Soca vs Reggae” which was held Friday night [Aug 2] following the conclusion of the Cup Match Classic.
The annual event involves artists making up “Team Soca” go head to head against “Team Reggae” in multiple rounds, with a winner declared at the end of the night, with “Team Soca” taking the crown this year.
“Team Soca” featured husband and wife team Fay-Ann Lyons and Bunji Garlin from Trinidad, DJ Chubb and Rusty G, while “Team Reggae” included Jamaican singer Demarco, alongside local DJs Prezidential Elite and King Jyrus.
Billed as the official Cup Match after party, the event included free giveaways and a VIP section, and the well received musical selections saw attendees dancing, jumping and waving towels well into the night.
