Videos/Photos: Burch, Minister & CEO ‘Swim Off’
Two time Olympic swimmer Roy Allan Burch engaged in a “swim off” this morning [Aug 21], as did Digicel CEO Wayne Caines and Minister of Culture, Community & Sports Wayne Scott.
The “swim off” took place at the Aquatics Centre in Devonshire after Digicel Bermuda announced that the company will be sponsoring Burch, with the package worth $7,200 per year leading up to the 2016 Olympics.
Digicel CEO Wayne Caines and Minister of Culture, Community & Sports Wayne Scott had their own race before the main relay event got underway. Both swam furiously to the finish, with Minister Scott edging out Mr Caines to win the challenge.

The next event was a race that pitted Roy Allan Burch against a 4-person relay team made up of Digicel employees. The relay team was given a head start to try and even up the competition.
Burch, for obvious reasons, came in as the heavy favourite and did not disappoint, cruising past the relay team to take the victory. After the relay team started, Burch dove in and quickly made up ground to win the race.
