Harness Pony Racing Season Gets Underway
The 2013/14 Bermuda Harness Pony Racing Season got underway at the Vesey Street National Equestrian Center on Friday [Sept 6] with a large crowd in attendance.
The opening race of the season saw the 1:08/3 – 1:10/3 Time Bar Class take to the track, with John Flood in the bike of Just Like That cross the line in a winning time of 1:14 flat while rookie driver Ryan Manders was second in a time of 1:14&2.
Dylan DeSilva steered Ribbons & Pearls to victory in the 1:07/2 – 1:08/2 Time Bar Class when they crossed the line in a time of 1:10&2 while GV Special Dream with David Burrows Jr. in the bike finished second clocking 1:10&3. Zinho Cooper and GV Smokem finished third in 1:12&2.
