Hockey: Bermuda Lose Matches To Isle Of Man
Bermuda faced Isle of Man on Friday [Sept 6] in the 5th Inter-Island Hockey Tournament with Isle of Man winning both of the matches.
The Inter-Island tournament is played every two years between the male and female representative sides of Jersey, Guernsey, Bermuda, Orkney and the Isle of Man, the venue for the event rotating amongst the islands.
Men’s: Isle Of Man 12 Bermuda 0
Bermuda’s men’s team opened the 2013 Inter-Island Tournament facing off against the host going down 12 – 0. The Isle Of Man got five goals from Conor Byrne, a hat-trick from Greg Miller, two goals from Dave Callow and single strikes from Alexander Bell and Andy Vernon-Browne.
Ladies: Isle Of Man 1 Bermuda 0
The Isle Of Man Ladies team will breath a sigh of relief with being able to come away with 3 points. Bermuda played a very good game and were unlucky not to have scored. After a scoreless first half both teams came out in the second half with something to prove but it was the home team that found the back of the net through captain Kim Carney.
