Nahki Wells Injured In Today’s Bradford Game

September 28, 2013

[Updated] Nahki Wells and Bradford City met up with Shrewsbury Town today [Sept 28] at Valley Parade, with the match seeing the 23 year old Bermudian striker going off early in the first half with an injury.

Approximately twenty two minutes into the first half Wells took what was described as “a hefty knock to the foot” from Dave Winfield and despite trying to carry on he had to be replaced by Mark Yeates.

The Telegraph and Argus reported that Wells — Bradford’s leading scorer — was “hobbling” and went off to a standing ovation from the 14,000 strong crowd.

T&A reporter Simon Parker tweeted that, “Early indications, and these are early, is that Wells injury not too serious. Caught right on ankle bone and very painful.”

As of this writing, the two teams were tied at 1-1 late in the second half.

Update 12.56pm: Bradford City’s James Hanson scored a goal in injury time, with his last minute goal earning them a 2-1 victory.
