Nahki Wells Won’t Be Rushed Back To Action

October 21, 2013

The UK’s Telegraph & Argus is reporting that Bradford City boss Phil Parkinson will not rush injured Bermudian star Nakhi Wells back to the field, despite his club being shut out for two straight matches, going a collective 222 minutes without scoring a goal.

Wells traveled with his team to a game against rival Crawley, but sat on the sidelines as he watched his club drop a 1-0 decision.

“Nahki is looking better and running a bit more freely. But he hasn’t trained,” Parkinson told the Telegraph and Argus.

“We took him with us [to Crawley] to get two days work with him. He was never going to be available. We’ve got to make sure that when he’s back, he’s ready. It’s a long season and we’re fifth in the table – it’s a good position.

“We’ve had a bit of disruption with injuries but we’ve got to come through the other side.”

Wells was injured during a match between his Bradford City club and that from Shewsbury Town on September 28, taking a hard hit to the ankle and being forced to hobble off of the field during the first half.
