U17 Women’s National Team Depart For Haiti

The Bermuda U17 Women’s National team departed Bermuda this morning [Sept 19] to participate in the final round of the Caribbean Football Union U17 Women’s Regional World Cup Qualifying Tournament in Port au Prince, Haiti from September 20-30, 2013.

The participating countries along with Bermuda in the CFU tournament include:

  • Group A – Puerto Rico, USVI, Haiti, Antigua
  • Group B – Dominican Republic, Bermuda, Trinidad & Tobago, Grenada

Bermuda will open their group matches against the Dominican Republic on September 21, before playing Trinidad & Tobago on September 23rd, and Grenada on September 25th.

U17 Women  Departing LF Wade to Haiti

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, to be played on September 27. The finals and 3rd place games will be played on September 29, 2013.

The two finalists from the Haiti tournament will participate in the CONCACAF Qualifying Tournament tentatively scheduled to be played in Jamaica from October 30-November 9, 2013.

The USA, Canada, Mexico, host Jamaica, Central American qualifiers El Salvador and Guatemala will await the two CFU advancing teams. This is the final qualifying stage with two teams advancing to the U17 Women’s World Cup tournament in 2014.

The Bermuda Women’s National coach, Naquita Robinson, will assist Aaron Denkins with coaching. The full contingent of players and officials includes:

Players: Kali Lespere [Capt.], Eva Frazzoni, Victoria Davis, Zakiyah Durham, Micah Pond, K’Sheala Burch Waldron, Deshae Darrell, Danielle Foote, Taznae Fubler, Nasaj Burgess, Aaliyah Nolan, Zahra Gibbons, Teiyah Durham, Jada Samuels, Dazhja Greaves, Kimika Jackson, Sideya Dill, Leah Smith, Asia Denkins, Symira Lowe Darrell

Coaches: Naquita Robinson, Aaron Denkins

Officials: Chrysse Bean – manager, Leanne Yates – physio, Anthony Francis – Head of Delegation

Bermuda Football Association Executive member Shequita Parsons has been appointed as a match commissioner for the CFU Tournament and is also travelling to Haiti.
