29 Yr Old Visitor Fined $1,500 For Drunk Driving
A Florida resident who said he was just passing through Bermuda pleaded guilty to driving whilst impaired and was fined $1500 in Magistrates Court today [Nov 26].
Senior Magistrate Archie Warner required that 29-year-old David Sutherland pay his $1,500 forthwith.
The Court heard that Police had been called to an accident on Cambridge Road in Somerset around 11:23pm on 25th November and found Mr Sutherland sprawled in the road with a bike nearby.
Mr Sutherland was taken to KEMH and then to Hamilton Police Station where the alco-analyzer test showed that he had 145mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood.
