Endurance Welcomes New US Insurance CEO

Bermuda-based Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd said that Douglas Worman will join the company on November 11, 2013 as Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of U.S. Insurance.

With more than twenty years experience, Mr. Worman will be responsible for a broad range of professional, casualty, property and specialty lines offered through the company’s extensive U.S. producer network. Mr. Worman will be based in the company’s New York City office, reporting to Jack Kuhn, Chief Executive Officer of Global Insurance.

Mr. Kuhn commented, “Doug brings to Endurance Insurance extensive underwriting experience that spans products, distribution networks and regions. As we continue to develop our U.S. franchise, Doug’s leadership, business development acumen and reputation in this market will be instrumental to our success.”

Mr. Worman joins Endurance from Alterra Capital where he was Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Alterra US Insurance. Prior to joining them in 2010, he served as Managing Director of Sharebridge Holdings and President & CEO of Sharebridge Underwriting Group.

From 1992 through 2008, Mr. Worman held various underwriting and management positions at AIG culminating in his serving as President & CEO of AIG Excess Casualty Group, formerly known as American Home. Mr. Worman is a graduate of Penn State University.
