Two Men Injured In East Broadway Collision

[Updated] At just before 9pm this evening [Nov 21] there was a collision on East Broadway involving two motorcycles, resulting in two people receiving what the police have described as “serious” injuries.

Police Media Manager Dwayne Caines said, “At 8:40pm first responders attended a report of a road traffic collision on East Broadway in the area of the Rubis Gas Station and Blue Waters Anglers Club in Pembroke.

“It appears that a cycle was traveling east and another west when it appears that the cycles collided.

“Both people were taken to the hospital where at this point both are being treated for what is being described as serious injuries. Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this collision to please contact police on 295-0011,” said Mr Caines.

This evening’s road accident follows after the collision early this morning in Devonshire, which also saw two people injured.

Update 10.10pm: One person involved in the collision has been confirmed as a 46 year old male, and is in serious condition having suffered head injuries.

Update Nov 22, 2.23pm: The police said initial reports suggested that the two riders had sustained serious injuries, however the two riders [aged 47 and 46] have both been treated and subsequently discharged from hospital.

The 47 year old Hamilton parish man and 46 year old Warwick man believed seriously injured in a motorcycle and auxiliary cycle collision around 8:40pm Thursday, November 21st on East Broadway in Pembroke have both been treated and subsequently discharged from hospital.

Initial reports suggested that the two riders had sustained serious injuries in Thursday night’s collision. There were no other injuries reported. Inquiries are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.

        Give it up, there will always be horrendous drivers, and more than likely you are one of them, cause no one is perfect and I am almost sure that you have, run a light, pulled out of a gate, not gone the speed limit, failed to indicate etc, etc.

    There was another accident this morning at Woodlawn Road junction with Middle Road in Somerset this morning around 7:30. A bike came down the hill and collided with a truck pulling out of Woodlawn Road.

    Everyone needs to slow down and take care; myself included at times.
