    SHARE THE ROAD !

I have been riding motorcycles for a long time and in many countries,So I am not new at it.

I am sure that any person who has been to K.E.M.H as a result of an accident would more than agree, that time has come to deal with the matter.

I would like to approach this in a positive way .

You may wonder if you will be next road statistic, being one of 10,000 who chose to ride motorcycles, for you it is all about managing risk.

If what i am about to say lacks tact, then so be it .

However it saddens me to read about people who ride motorcycles and get hurt and unfortunately, some don’t make it.

For everything in life there is cost, a motorcycle or car accident for that matter there can be enormous cost especially if there is bodily injury, just ask any insurance company, The list is endless and so is the cost.

May be you could fill in the blanks here.

    Medical bills $
    Hospital bills $
    $
    Police attendance $
    Rescue attendance $
    Loss of work $
    Insurance claims $
Damage or loss of vehicle $
    Pain and suffering ?
    Permanent disfigurement ?

Making the T.C.D. test equivalent to getting a law degree will not solve the problem.

You will get an exam at the end which you will need to get an 80% pass mark. Hey! it’s not a game.

In the USA the MOTORCYCLE SAFETY FOUNDATION offer a rider education course second to none for about $200 its worth every penny, where, you will learn many new skills and how to manage risk, You will get an exam at the end of this week end course, which, you will need to get an 80 % pass mark.

Hey! Its not a game, it is achievable, even if you fail you get to do it again free.

You may even get a better Insurance rate.

Some of you will say what can they teach me ? My answer to you is EVERYTHING !

Rider / Driver education could be the do or die answer for Bermuda.

  4. May the grace of God be upon him now and sustain this gentleman, as I do not know the extent our your injuries my prayers are with you and for you and your family, may angels watch over you and bring you to divine health, were every organ and every tissue will function into the perfection in which God has created it to function, may the hand of death be removed and the spirit of life prevail that God may get the glory in Jesus name I pray
    AMEN.

  5. Hurricane says:

A bit cynical I know, but something seems up with the amount of single vehicle bike accidents where the rider “lost control”. Did the police really respond to a report or did they find him. And how many others did they “find”?

    • Know it all says:

Quite possibly the most idiotic comment/question ever asked

  6. Dano says:

Hope he makes a quick recovery..

  7. JUNK YARD DOG says:

Some of you may ask what does it takes to have a motorcycle accident, the answer to the question is that there are many contributing factors from having a ” Bad day at the office” to mechanical failure, the list is endless.

All being equal, quite possibly it could be inattentiveness on your part and for that to occur all you have to do is take your eyes off the road for less than one second.

  8. Hurricane says:

@ Know It All, pretty idiotic of you to believe that everything reported the the police service is “gospel”.

Guess you don’t know half as much as you thought you did.
