The real story is Mandarin Oriental has PULLED OUT out of Bermuda, like a long line before them. Why? and Why is Fairmont (and Rosewood for now) the only ones still here? Questions the new TA has yet to answer.

Hard to imagine that Mandarin pulled out particulalrly in light of the management fee that Hotel Management Companies in their bracket command. Sounds more like the owners taking real ownership of the day to day management and no longer treating it as a trophy.
Most of us that do not truly understand the Hotel industry make assumptions based on a name. Those of us who are familiar know better.

    • Rich says:

The real story as told by whom?

    • Mike Hind says:

You mean the new TA that was just set up and doesn’t have a CEO yet?

Yeah… how DARE they not answer that question… the bastards.

    • Ole says:

Very, very unlikely that Mandarin pulled out….contract not renewed is a much better bet….

Maybe they didn’t get the memo from you all that it’s “like night and day” down here. How dare they make a business decision with the OBA in power; that fact alone should’ve made them suck it up and stick to it. The bastards.
