Photos: RAF Military Jets Departing Bermuda
The British Royal Air Force [RAF] aircraft that arrived in Bermuda on Monday left yesterday [Jan 21] after spending the night on the island.
Two L-1011 Tristar tankers and seven Tornado fighter jets departed from the LF Wade International Airport at approximately 11.30am, leaving one Tornado jet parked at the airport ramp.
The sounds of the jets’ roaring engines got the attention of passing motorists causing numbers of onlookers to stake a spot to watch and listen as the visiting aircraft were taking off.
As the aircraft made their way to the runway, pilots and crew members could be seen waving to the gathered onlookers as the planes passed by those lining the perimeter fences.
