Photos: Heavy Rains Cause Areas Of Flooding

February 24, 2014

Another day of heavy rain has continued to affect some areas of the island, with some streets almost looking like rivers and flooding to blame for a small BELCO outage in Hamilton.

According to the Bermuda Weather Service ”An area of showers and occasional thunder continues to push across the area ahead of a surface trough moving through this evening.

“Conditions improve Tuesday as high pressure briefly builds in with cooler temperatures and mainly light winds. Rain, showers, occasional thunder and strong winds again arrive by Wednesday evening as a front pushes in from the south.”

This reminds me of the cop who drove through bakery river. Anyone know how officer submarine is doing?

That orange van can’t be stuck. Some people just like to believe that their vehicle will make it.

    • SMH says:

Regardless it will still flood. The pipes that are located at Mills Creek need to be cleaned out from all the sludge.
The pipes are located under the water level which also makes it even more difficult.
All in a nutshell, there needs to be major work done. Not a quick fix clean out.

They have all that mulch and stuff at the dump. Why don’t to spread it and raise the road.

    • bozey says:

Why would they?? It just make too much sense!! LOL…

    • Toodle-oo says:

You don’t use mulch and (agricultural compost) ‘stuff’ to make the foundation for a house or road or anything .
It completely rots back down to nothing .
Do you know how Marsh Folly got its name and why they’ve never been able to fill it in ?

So that’s why it makes sense that they DON’T use it !

      • Um Um Like says:

The ash blocks from the incinerator would certainly help out though!

  3. Mazumbo says:

WHAT!!!! No one blamed de P.L.P yet?

    • Franklin jr says:

It must be terrible to live your life being so bitter

    • Triangle Drifter says:

Nope all of this rain is the OBA’s fault. The roads never flooded during the PLP reign. If they did it was the UBP’s fault for not fixing them prior to 1998.

  4. nuffin but the truth says:

Look at the clowns trying to drive in the water!

  5. Mabimbo says:

If anyone did, the PLP would certainly call the race card.

    LMFAO!!!
