BHI To Host “Miles of Smiles” Summer Camp
The Bermuda Hospitality Institute [BHI] invites children ages eight to 13 to join in on the fun and sign up for the Miles of Smiles Summer Camp, now open for registration.
BHI said, “At Miles of Smiles, parents can relax knowing that their children will be enjoying a host of mentally stimulating yet incredibly fun activities, all while seeing Bermuda from a new perspective.
“Miles of Smiles has something for both those seeking adventure and those eager to learn, and will introduce the children to the Island’s hospitality industry through a series of fun-filled activities.
K”ids will get to experience Bermuda from the vantage point of a tourist through exciting, one-of-a-kind outings that include cooking lessons with a professional chef, cave swimming, behind-the-scenes property tours of hotels, golfing, and more.
“Parents have the option of signing their kids up for either one week, or all, at the six-week program. Each week will focus on a different area of the island, with activities planned in the east end, central and city, and west end locations on a rotating basis.”
Parents of last year’s children praised the camp for its educational yet fun properties, its exposure to new activities and the “diversity and uniqueness of tours.”
“The camp is very fun and takes you through the Island and allows you to learn much more than you normally can at school,” said one parent. “It is informative and educational,” shared another.
With the aim of facilitating the successful transition of Bermudians into the hospitality industry, the Miles of Smiles camp is just one of many programs created by BHI to expose the Island’s young people to the local hospitality industry and to inform them of its importance in Bermuda.
