BFRS Promotes Two Firefighters To Sergeant
The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service [BFRS] has promoted two of its firefighters to the rank of Sergeant following 18 years of service from each of them.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service is pleased to announce the promotion of Firefighters Russann Francis and Raymond Masters to the position of Sergeant. Sergeants’ Francis and Masters joined our team 18 years ago as Firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians.
“Prior to her promotion, Sergeant Francis [pictured left, top] held the position of Acting Sergeant in both the Operations and Training Divisions. In her new role, she will be supervising an operational duty crew. Sergeant Francis is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Fire Science Degree.
“She is certified as a National Fire Protection Association Fire Officer Level 1 and a National Fire Protection Association Fire Instructor Level 1. In addition, Sergeant Francis is also an Emergency Medical Technician Intermediate [EMT-I] and the Chief Negotiator for the Fire Service Association [FSA] team.
“Sergeant Raymond Masters has held the position of Acting Sergeant in the Operations Division. In his new role, Sergeant Masters will be supervising an operational duty crew.
“Sergeant Masters [pictured above, bottom] is a National Fire Protection Association Instructor Level 1. He has successfully completed a High Volume Pump Instructor’s course at the Moreton-in-Marsh Fire Service College in the United Kingdom and an Emergency Fire Appliance Driving [EFADS] Instructor’s course at Cheshire Fire and Rescue in the United Kingdom.
“In addition, Sergeant Masters holds a certificate in Supervisory Management and he is an Emergency Medical Technician Intermediate [EMT-I].
“The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service would like to once again to congratulate Sergeant Russann Francis and Raymond Masters on their promotion and we wish them continued success in the future.”
