Bermuda Lacrosse Team Win Second Match

Bermuda won their second game at the FIL 2014 World Lacrosse Championships being held in Denver, Colorado, with a 14 – 5 win over Uganda.

Bermuda jumped out to a 3 – 0 lead with 10:33 remaining in the first period with goals from Drew Jenkins, Kyle Tucker and Douglas Bell, Andrew Soucie had two assists in the first three goals.

Uganda pulled two goals back, Kenneth Kasule scored an unassisted goal with 7.23 remaining and the Kasule assisted in Jaffari Makanda’s goal with 4:15 remaining making the score 3 – 2, but Stephen Michel scored with Bell getting the assist as Bermuda ended the period leading 4 – 2.

Bermuda scored 3 unanswered goals in the 2nd Period, with Bell scored back to back goals with 15:42 remaining and 11:10 remaining to complete his hat-trick, Soucie scored with 8:29 remaining as they took a 7 – 2 lead into the half time break.

In the third period Uganda scored with 18:55 remaining when Patrick Oriana scored and when Brian Tukire scored for Uganda it made the score 7-4 with 8:53 remaining in the period.

Drew Jenkins would complete his hat-trick with back to back goals, hit first came with 7:38 remaining and his second came with 6:08 remaining. Behind that Michel completed his hat-trick with a goal with 5:20 remaining on the clock and then with 1:05 remaining hit struck again.

Bell scored for a fourth time in the game with a goal in the 4th period, with 14:17 remaining Bell found the back of the net, with 4:57 remaining Quinn McKeown scored for Bermuda making the score 13 – 4 and then James Chiappa scored with 2:52 remaining earning Bermuda a 14-4 lead, Uganda did score the final goal of the game with 23 seconds remaining in the game when Casiro Onen scored.
