Video: Cleveland County Win Eastern County

Cleveland County Cricket Club won the Eastern County Cup when they took on champions St David’s at the Sea Breeze Oval in Bailey’s Bay, claiming their first victory in 33 years.

Batting first, Cleveland scored 282/8. Dion Stovell was the top scorer with 82 not out, while Jason Anderson added 76. Stovell’s knock saw him face 94 deliveries hitting 6 fours and 4 sixes, while Anderson faced 94 deliveries hitting 9 fours and 6 sixes. Sammy Robinson was the pick of the St. David’s Cricket Club bowlers with figures of 2-0-15-2.

In reply St. David’s Cricket Club got off to a good start, but soon found themselves in trouble at 88/5 before being bowled all out for 135. Chris Douglas was the top scorer with a knock of 50 hitting 7 fours, while former captain Dennis Musson led the Cleveland County bowlers with figures of 10-3-37-4.
