GSPIC To Partner With Gibbons Company

August 20, 2014

Gina Spence Productions in Christ [GSPIC] is partnering with Gibbons Company in order to offer “Each One, Reach One,” a uniform recycling program with the Gibbons store, with those donating “gently used” school clothes receiving a 20 percent discount on select school items.

Gibbons will have collection bins throughout their children’s department in order to collect the recycled clothing.

Following collection, GSPIC volunteers will distribute the clothing to families in need on Saturday. August 30, 2014 from 11.00am through 6.00pm at the old sound stage location on the upper level of the Washington Mall, thanks to the donation of the space by Washington Properties.

A spokesperson said, “We will still do our ‘each one reach one’ back to school drive in addition to giving out the clothing received from Gibbons Company.

“We are asking people to make donations to Back To School Campaign account #010-411486-001 [note back to school campaign]. To nominate a child in need of school uniforms, go online and complete the form. Please call Gina Spence at 704-0224 if you have any questions.

“Last year, we had a waiting list of families needing help with school uniforms; due to loss of jobs and the economy, we believe those numbers are going to increase.

“With the Gibbons partnership and recycle program, we are hoping to help more families in need. We look forward to partnering with Bermuda Broadcasting Ltd once again to provide much needed help and support to our children and families.”

This is a great endeavour. This should definitely be in partnership with the Department of Financial Assistance as well. So maybe next year, this can be explored. I think that it would be a great partnership.
