Lightning Strike Damages Airport Taxiway Light

A lightning strike resulted in damage to the taxiway edge light of the airport, and technicians could be seen working in the area following the incident.

The island has been experiencing some inclement weather today, with the Bermuda Weather Service issuing a Thunderstorm Advisory valid through this evening.

The General Manager at L.F. Wade International Airport Aaron Adderley confirmed the report saying, “There was damage to a taxiway edge light which appears to have been caused by a lightning strike.”
