Man Denies Stealing Chicken, Cash, Power Tool

August 6, 2014

Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [Aug 6] a 51 year old man denied multiple charges alleging he stole thousand of dollars in cash, boxes of chicken legs and a power tool.

Marvin Woolridge pleaded not guilty to, in November 2013, stealing $5,200 cash from a woman; receiving $5,200 cash knowing that it was the property of another person; possessing $5,200 cash knowing it to be the proceeds of criminal conduct.

He also denied that in June 2014 he trespassed in a business establishment on Vesey Street [Dunkley's] and stole four boxes of chicken legs valued at $200, and denied stealing a power tool [a pruner saw] valued at $1,000, from a landscaping firm in July 2014.

Senior Magistrate Archie Warner granted Mr Woolridge $2,000 bail.

“he trespassed in a business establishment on Vesey Street [Dunkley's] and stole four boxes of chicken legs valued at $200,”

$200 flippin dollars for four boxes of chicken legs!?! $50 a box? I’m about to sit on the eggs in my fridge and hatch my own damn chickens.

    • pressing the flush says:

      maybe they were big boxes,cartons.

btw,be careful not to crack ya eggs.

    • RME says:

It’s probably a “case” of chicken for that price. Not a 5lb box. At least I certainly hope so…

    • Hurricane says:

@ mixitup, before you sit on the eggs in your fridge, you might want to find out the size of the box. I just bought a box (case 30lb) of chicken on Monday; it was $49.00

  2. Raymond Ray says:

You that are complaining about the price of chicken are “failing to see the trees for the forest”. For some reason you seem to overlook the other charges that Mr. Marvin Woolridge is facing.
Of course, until proven guilty one is presumed innocent…

It’s been a week of very random thefts…
