BEPRO Lunch & Learn: Insurance Industry
Bermuda’s Emerging Professionals [BEPRO] will be holding its second insurance-based Lunch ‘N Learn entitled “Breaking into the Insurance Industry Pt. II” on September 18, 2014 at Butterfield Bank [Rosebank location, second floor] from 12.00pm to 1.00pm.
Attendees will be treated to guest speakers Dr. Dawnelle Walker, CEO of the Bermuda Insurance Institute [BII], Amy Wolfinger, VP/Senior Broker [AON], and Cherie Edwards, VP – Casualty Underwriting [Endurance], as discussion centers around Bermuda’s insurance industry and the workshops and qualifications available locally for success within the field.
A spokesperson said, “BEPRO supports the learning and development of emerging and established professionals and understands the importance of continued education and training for success within a chosen career.
“Gaining experience in insurance through various workshops and by obtaining the accredited designations is an important step for anyone truly interested in the insurance industry and from this lunch n’ learn emerging professionals can expect to leave with knowledge on the resources available to progress in both the local and global insurance and reinsurance markets.
“Those who attend will hear from Dr. Walker, who will speak on the vision of the BII, the courses it offers, and how the Institute fits in with the success of insurance professionals in Bermuda.
“Amy Wolfinger and Cherie Edwards, will be discussing how they obtained their CPCU designation, how their studies influenced their careers, and their journeys through underwriting and broking.
“Attendees will be motivated to look at their own career paths and learn how seminars, workshops and designations will aid in advancing their professional goals.
BEPRO Professional Development Director Lamar Caines said, “Let’s actively learn about the insurance training opportunities available to us, through the encouragement of the BII and seasoned professionals working within the Bermuda insurance market, in order to gain knowledge and challenge ourselves to pursue excellence.”
