Chewstick To Host Neo-Griot Lounge Events

September 18, 2014

On Friday, September 19 and Saturday, September 20, 2014, dynamic local talents will be featured at The Chewstick Neo-Griot Lounge, providing music, local entertainment, and energetic performances.

The proceedings will begin with Live Fridays, featuring The 3 Kings, and continue Saturday with an intimate concert featuring international performing artist Fiyah Marshall, with opening acts Canjelae Taylor and King Cami Cam. Entry for each event is $10, with proceeds going to support the featured artists.

A spokesperson said, “Live Fridays is designed to spotlight the beauty, expression and richness of storytelling through featuring a different band each week to break down barriers and support emerging talent; the program helps to revitalize arts, culture and tourism.

“Friday, September 19 will be the chance to not only experience a great band, but also to appreciate some of Bermuda’s local legends in a new light, as Jules, Aswad, and Live Wires have been stalwarts of the Bermuda music scene and have served as inspiration for a number of young artists over the years.

“The band is ready to share on September 19, to connect with the audience in a meaningful way. Do not miss the opportunity to experience conscious lyrics, relaxing music, expression and upliftment. The 3 Kings’ unique sound and delivery will lure you into the depths of feeling and take you on a journey, leaving you hungry for more.”

Offical music video – “Summer Love” by Fiyah Marshall featuring Jadakiss:

“Enjoy the vibes, celebrate live entertainment at its best, and support Live Fridays.

“Then return on Saturday, September 20 for Fiyah Marshall’s first solo performance in Bermuda. He has shared his talents around the world as an urban dancehall artist and all around charming presence. Saturday evening will allow him to showcase the talents that have seen him work with well-known artists such as Jadakiss, Marlon Asher, Twista and more.

“Opening performances by Canjelae and Cami Cam will add to the event to make it a night to remember, as these two young ladies are some of the best musical talents Bermuda has to offer.

“Tickets are only $10, for a night of performances that will penetrate the senses and tantalize your palette. Fiyah Marshall will share his unique style, flair, and effect on the audience, while Canjelae has emerged as an enduring and promising female presence in Bermuda’s musical identity, and Cami Cam brings a creativity that will undoubtedly blow the audience away.

“Both the Live Friday event and the Saturday concert are scheduled to start at 9.00pm; entry for each is $10, with proceeds going directly to the artist. Seating is limited, so get in early.
