Impact Of Hurricane Gonzalo On MWI

The Bermuda Hospitals Board [BHB] today [Oct 20] said that, due to the impact of Hurricane Gonzalo, access to the main Mid-Atlantic Wellness Institute Campus is via Devon Spring Road, behind the pet shop, while access to the methadone clinic is via Hermitage Road.

A spokesperson said, “As maintenance is undertaken following the storm and work is undertaken in the surrounding area to clear access routes, the following services have been temporarily impacted:

  • The MWI Cafeteria is closed to the public for the week
  • Regularly scheduled appointments with the Outpatient Service have been cancelled until further notice
  • Community Health Acute Services will be open for Emergencies only
  • The Methadone Clinic will be open normal hours
  • All evening groups in all departments are cancelled for the remainder of the week
  • Community Mental Health Rehabilitation closed for the week

“If anyone has an emergency and needs to contact one of the MWI services urgently, the Emergency lines by department are as follows:

  • Acute [Emergency Mental Health] Services: 249-3422
  • Rehabilitation: 249-3322
  • Child and Adolescent Services: 239-6344
  • Turning Point: 239-2038
