Devonshire Parish Council Offers Scholarship

Devonshire Parish Council is offering the Devonshire Parish Undergraduate Scholarship, which will be awarded annually and have a maximum value of $5000.00 per annum for undergraduate study at an approved University or College, including Bermuda College.

A spokesperson said, “Applicants, who must be Bermudian and have resided in Devonshire Parish for at least five years, should submit a completed application form on the deadline of Friday December 5th, 2014.

“Last year the Devonshire Parish Council awarded $15,000 in scholarship funds to deserving residents. The winner of the graduate scholarship was Ms. Jacqueline Simons who is studying at Thomas Jefferson University.

“Undergraduate scholarships were awarded to Ms. Michaela Ratteray [University of California], Michael Watson [Savannah College of Art and Design], and Ms. Tatyanna Butterfield [Temple University].

“We hope that this year’s awards will be just as successful. Interviews are scheduled for December 20th and 21st with the scholarship being awarded in the first week of January.

“Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted. Application form are available at the Devonshire Parish Post office or available upon request by email at dpcscholarship@gmail.com

“Preference will be given to applicants with strong academic credentials and who can demonstrate financial need.”
