Frameworks To Present Custom Made Show

November 12, 2014

Frameworks is getting set to present “Custom Made,” the presentation of a collection of pieces from various artists, all framed by Frameworks and ready to be shown at the collaborative fundraising show.

The show will open on November 21 from 5.30pm to 7.00pm at the Bermuda Society of Arts and run through December 10, 2014. Admission is free.

A spokesperson said, “The Custom Made art show has been an idea brewing for years and the time was right to put it into fruition. This is a PR promotion for us and at the same time a way of giving back and thanking the art community for their business and loyalty over the past 36 years.”

“Framing is an art in itself and although we don’t consider ourselves artists, we thought the idea of designing an art piece to our liking would be quite artistic. Forty-three artists were invited to submit a piece of their artwork to us, without any say in the frame choice.

“They were all designed by us and our wonderful team of framers framed them. We wanted to show the public how many variations there are for framing artwork. You may love or dislike the frame selections; it is quite subjective, a fact that was truly put to the test when three designers who work together daily tried to agree on choices.

“The show opens on November 21 at the Bermuda Society of Arts City Hall from 5.30pm through 7.00pm. All of the pieces are for sale. When a piece sells, the artist will get their asking price for the piece and the remaining profit will be shared between the four galleries: Masterworks, Bermuda National Gallery, Bermuda Society of Arts, and the Bermuda Arts Centre at Dockyard.”
