Engineering Competition Aimed At Students
The Bermuda Association of Professional Engineers [BAPE] has revealed a new free to enter competition for students and young professionals aged 18-26.
BAPE is partnering with The IET, a British engineering institution, to host THE IET Present Around the World [PATW] competition. It is hoped that there will be enough interest to organize multiple heats in early 2015.
Competitors must prepare a 10 minute presentation on an engineering or technology topic, followed by a five minute question and answer session. The emphasis is on presentation skills rather than technical content, enabling competitors at varying levels of their studies or career to participate on an equal footing.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the winner and runner-up of each heat. They will also receive a free one year membership to The IET.
The winners and runners-up of each heat will move on to the final round and compete for further cash prizes. The outright winner of the competition will also win an all-expenses paid trip to compete in the Americas Regional Final in June 2015.
Those interested in competing are asked to contact Daniele Bortoli for an information pack and registration requirements.
