Hurricane Gonzalo Above & Below The Waves
The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [BUEI] and the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences [BIOS] are getting set to present The Tempest: Views of Hurricane Gonzalo Above and Below the Waves.
The event will take place on Thursday, December 11, at 7.30pm, with speakers Mark Guishard of BIOS and Ruth Curry of BIOS and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution on hand.
The event flyer says, “Come out for a fascinating evening to get inside the development and passage of Hurricane Gonzalo and its atmospheric effects on Bermuda.
“Get a deeper look at the impact of the storm on the surrounding ocean as seen by the BIOS glider system deployed specifically for this hurricane. A lecture not to be missed.”
The event will begin from 5.00pm to 6.30pm with a Sushi Happy Hour at Harbourfront [specially priced drinks and sushi], with the Harbourfront opening for dinner at 6.00pm.
The lecture itself will begin at 7.30pm in the BUEI auditorium.
The cost to attend is $20 for members and $25 for non-members. Tickets available by calling 294-0204 or visiting BUEI’s Oceans Gift Shop.
