Jasmine Spence Named JWC Game MVP

Bermuda footballer Jasmine Spence has been named as Offensive MVP of the 2014 Julie Weber Memorial Classic [JWC] game following her team’s completion of a season that saw them finish with a record of 18-0-1.

MVASports.com said, “Last Friday, Montverde Academy’s Girls’ Varsity Soccer team won the 32nd annual Championship of the 2014 Julie Weber Memorial Classic and extended their unbeaten run to 19 games.”

“The team finished their successful season 18-0-1 after defeating Bishop Moore Catholic High School Friday night 3-0. The victory crowned them as tournament champions in the 16 team pool with teams throughout Central Florida and the Jacksonville, Florida, area.

“MVA’s goal scorers were Nathalia Da Silva, Andrea Rodriquez and Shayla Smart.

“MVA junior Jasmine Spence was selected the Offensive MVP of the JWC Championship game. The game was played at the Bishop Moore Catholic High School of Orlando, Florida.”

Ms. Spence’s athletic excellence at the school isn’t new, with the footballer being awarded an Athlete of the Week nod in 2011.
