FEI World Jumping Challenge Gets Underway

istatshorse150110The Bermuda FEI World Jumping Challenge Category A 2014 got underway on Saturday [Jan 10] at the National Equestrian Centre on Vesey Street.

Due to hurricane damage it was necessary to postpone the original November competition date, however competition got underway tomorrow and will continue today.

After two Rounds Philip Correia riding Emerson lead with a Clear Round time of 36.42, Kirista Rabain and Helsinki Van De Heffnick are in second with a Clear Round time of 41.50.

Michael Rodrigues and Southern Eclipse clocked a time of 46.32, but they had 8 Penalty Fault Points and are in third, while Kelby Lusher and Skyfall are in fourth with a time of 66.47 and they had 12 Penalty Fault Points. Rodrigues competing on a second horse All In One finds himself in fifth place with a time of 67.31 and they had 16 Penalty Fault Points.

This year, the FEI World Jumping Challenge is entering its 36th year of existence. Originally, this Competition was created to provide less experienced jumping riders with an opportunity to compete on an International level without having to leave their own countries.
