Bermudians Promoted At Fairmont Southampton

The Fairmont Southampton have highlight the recent promotions of three talented young Bermudian colleagues to positions of increased responsibility within the resort.

Regional Director for Human Resources Nelda Simons said, “Nothing makes us more proud than cultivating the talented colleagues we have at the resort and working with them to grow their career in the hospitality industry.

“Each of these individuals is a tremendous asset to our hotel and integral to our overall operation. As a destination, Bermuda is known for its warm and friendly service, and each of these young Bermudian women represent that spirit.”

Fairmont Southampton Highlights Local Promotions

Allison Tucker is the new Conference Services Manager with the hotel. Ms. Tucker, a graduate of The George Washington University School of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration concentrating in Hospitality Management, started with the Fairmont Southampton in 2007 as a Discover Bermuda DMC Summer Student, working seasonally during school breaks.

Following Ms. Tucker’s graduation in 2011, she was hired as Discover Bermuda Operations Manager. In her new position, Allison Tucker will play a key role in organizing conferences and events at The Fairmont Southampton.

Marquisha Douglas first joined The Fairmont Southampton in 2011 as Sales Coordinator and has been promoted to Sales Manager. In this role, Ms. Douglas will be selling rooms to groups of 10 rooms or more, focusing on the social events, military, education, religious, and fraternal group markets.

Ms. Douglas is a graduate of Mount St. Vincent and holds a Bachelors of Business Administration and Associates Degree in Tourism & Hospitality. Ms. Douglas is also a Sergeant with the Bermuda Regiment, and has been balancing her military career with work commitments.

Felicity Burton is a graduate of the Bermuda College’s Associate of Arts/Business Administration and began her career at The Fairmont Southampton in 2013 as Guest Services Agent.

In 2014, Ms. Burton was promoted to Rooms Controller. Her work with the front office exposed her to the functions of other hotel departments, and she is now a valued team member of The Fairmont Southampton’s sales efforts as Sales Coordinator.
