PLP Congratulates Bermuda’s Football Team
The PLP extended their congratulations to the Bermuda National Football Team on their victory over Bahamas in the first round of World Cup 2018 Qualifiers, and thanked the thousands of local fans who came out to show support.
A spokesperson said, “The Progressive Labour Party would like to congratulate the Bermuda National Football Team on their aggregate 8-0 victory over Bahamas in the first round of World Cup 2018 Qualifiers.

“The urgency, commitment and dedication to the game that has been shown by the players, coaches, and support staff have shown a team that is committed to going far into this current World Cup experience.
“We congratulate them all on their success and encourage them as they prepare for the next round against Guatemala. Guatemala will provide challenges different than Bahamas but we support our team and stand with them. We are confident they can defeat Guatemala!
“We thank the thousands of local fans who came out to provide support to our team, and we encourage the BFA to provide all the support to National Coach Andrew Bascome to ensure our team has sufficient preparation in advance of the next round.
