    Nothing short of sad.

I bet you one of those 4,000 unemployed would gladly drive a bus.. at regular pay!!

  2. Onion says:

What is it going to take for this to get sorted out?

  3. stunned... says:

hmmm…that virus is stll going around?

  4. Jus' Wonderin' says:

SMFH! You cancel the 5:05pm and the 5:45pm #2. How are guys supposed to get home?!?! I’ll work for less than $90 an hour…holla at me!

  5. bluebird says:

Things seem to working out very well, and saving $1000.00 per day on overtime for the driver, besides fuel, maintance and depreciation as new busses have to be bought.
Every Bus cancelled is saving the TAX PAYER a whole lot of money.
But we still have to pay they for there 14weeks sick leave long vacations benefits and a Pension when retiring.

    • hmmm2 says:

They are cancelling buses around 5:00pm… This is ridiculous. I bet you didn’t even bother to look at the schedule.

Is the OBA paying you that much money that you can’t see the forest for the trees…?

      • Onion says:

The Union are responsible for this, not the OBA.

    • PBanks says:

Comments like these are the type that make people question the motives of some posters and if they’re paid operatives or demagogues.

Zero concern for the commuter, the senior citizen, student, or other person who can’t afford a car or bike.

Instead we get “things seem to be working out very well”.

You’ve unwittingly given more ammo to your political opposites, and alienated the average joe who’d just prefer constructive dialogue that helps us all.

  6. hmmm2 says:

Can we not as an island run a bus service efficiently? This is a shame.

    • serengeti says:

According to the BIU and Starling, transport should not be designated an essential service. So stop your whining, unless you can get the drivers to stop taking sick days.

    • Raymond Ray says:

More like a sham…How can anyone be permitted so much time off from work?(Also with full pay and a hefty pension?) :-(

  7. Hey says:

So is this going to be a monthly thing or…..

  8. Hurricane says:

The OBA need to grow “a pair ” and get this sorted out once and for all. They have been running things long enough and this has been going on too long.

  9. Gabbs says:

Blame your government for this and not the bus drivers, the government is the ones putting a ban on overtime, people do get sick.

  10. ann says:

DE unionize and all the buses would be running!

  11. bluebird says:

    @inna,
those mystical 4,000 unemployed, where they be.
Just a thought as we do have 11,300 work permits available and cannot find Bermudians to fill those JOB’s.
Never mind the 4,000 where are the 11,300 to fill those jobs that those people supposedly take from us.

  12. say it aint so says:

    PRIVATIZE!!!!!!!

  13. Greenie says:

Privatize this now. The union needs to brought into the real world that the rest of are living in
