  1. Huh? says:

Is it automatic and common practice now to flee an accident scene?
If the first person had not fled the victim might still be alive, or maybe not. Who knows? But even so what kind of person collides with someone and doesn’t even stop to see if they are OK? How incredibly cowardly, careless and selfish is that? Did they even try to call an ambulance? Do these people care about anybody but themselves?

  2. Thank u says:

    God is good

    • Common sense says:

Sorry, but I have a major problem with the statement that “God is good.” I see absolutely no indication of that at all. In fact just the opposite.

      • Bozey says:

Common sense is not too common…huh!! People are in custody…vehicles impounded pending investigation!! Wow…

      • Whistling Frog says:

@ Common Sense: God doesn’t control the evil in people. It selfish people who take it upon themselves to not care about their fellow men… I believe what Thank U was saying, that “God is good” for the people being caught who maybe responsible for this dreadful incident..
My prayers go out to the family and friends of La-Nae Woodley.

      • N says:

God is GOOD; God is love, peace, care and all great things. It is the devil that owns all negative, pain and suffering.
        People SO need to recognize!!!

        Amen

May the families hang on to their faith and know that God will get them through. Keep the devil away.
        xo

      • SMH says:

Yes, God is good, but that comment really doesn’t fit the circumstances and loss of life that the family is presented with. Please don’t just throw God in there randomly. He will help the family cope with the loss, but choose words that help, not confuse.

    • MAKE MY DAY says:

Then why did he let 75 MILLION people DIE in the second world war??? And what about all these kids who have cancer from an early age!!! Explain all of that to me!!

        • t says:

But God is supposed to be omnipotent in all places at all times. He must have been having a nap. Same as when he let that aircraft be crashed into the Alps.

          • N says:

We’re living in a sinful world; God’s time to replenish and cure is yet to come.

    • Zevon says:

Because they are lowlife scum. They walk among us, unfortunately.

    • MAKE MY DAY says:

Because they are “scumbags”!! They don’t know the meaning of the word!! They should both be charged with vehicular manslaughter!!

Everyone says “how can someone just leave a scene
?” But if you’ve never been in that situation it hard understand what logic, emotion or fears s person is experiencing.

  20. Awake says:

I’m perplexed at the “dislikes” from the comments thus far! Something is clearly wrong with these people, especially when they don’t even reply stating why they hit “dislike”! Hmmm…

  21. Jadon says:

    They have the wrong person….

  22. Terry says:

    Very tragic incident.
    People react in many ways.
Be assured all you so quick to condemn that this could have been you.
    See^.

    The family is grieving.
I doubt the person who ‘supposedly ‘ came into contact with the victim knew and if they did; time will tell.

The Police have done a great job along with others since the incident.

    Lets wait.
    Shalom.

  23. Ann says:

If this doesn’t prove that we need some serious action taken here concerning peoples drinking and driving I don’t know what will. This is a massive wake up call, I don’t know how the Canadians do it, but it sure is worth looking into, people there do not drink and drive because they are scared, well it’s time here for people to be scared. This is one of those events that people will not forget, GET SERIOUS! My total condolences to the family.

    • Jennifer says:

There’s a program in Canada called RIDE. There are stops posted at on ramps and high traffic areas where you have to stop to get through. Yes, people still drink and drive but trust that you are more mindful. People are willing to leave their cars and find another way home for safety’s sake.

  24. Terry says:

    Agreed Ann.
You go down or under in Canada.
    No if’s, and’s or but’s.

    • Danny says:

Who gives a damn about what is done in Canada? People in Canada do not drink and drive? Really???

  25. edwin says:

Condolences to the young lady’s family and a speedy recovery to the other young lady. Tell me what will make them scared, because with so many terrible accidents that we have had people’s lifestyles have not changed.Do you think that if they show many of those graphic pictures of injuries and the result of such , it might work.

  26. Cheryl says:

My dearest condolences to the family.

  27. Truth is killin' me... says:

Did I hear correctly that the pillion passenger was a 16 year old out at 4am!?

  28. Griz says:

@truthiskillinme Firstly the pillion passenger WAS NOT 16 and secondly, DOES THAT EVEN MATTER? You’re’ focusing on her age but the other young lady is dead. Please focus on what’s important here.

  29. Oh,I see now says:

I know this will not bring back that beautiful young lady but those two in custody if they are the right people will NEVER live this down.Everywhere they go everything they do every word they utter they will always be remembered for what they did.

    • Mike says:

      Absolutely right.

Living with that memory for the rest of what will probably be a very long life will be hell.

A hell that they deserve frankly.

  30. Jadon says:

As I said they had the wrong person. She has been released….. Now they need to find out quickly who really done this !

    • aceboy says:

She was bailed. I don’t see anything that says she didn’t do it.

    • N says:

Figured… that person is in hiding!
Car owner or other probably has no idea of incident and drove it without knowledge.

Crazy!! Worse to think it could be someone known. I doubt this person(s) of car/jeep will come forth right away. Very sad.

  31. kim says:

all this talk about god,,In the seventeen hundreds say 1755 give or take,, in Lisbon Portugal one of the holiest city’s in all of Europe, a catholic city, all saints day, one of the holiest days back then, everyone was in church worshiping, that morning there was an earth quake, and what buildings are most vulnerable to earthquakes? the tallest ones, the tallest buildings anywhere in the seventeen hundreds were churches on that holy morning in Lisbon, in Portugal ,on all saints day, while in church, 80 thousand people died in their churches ,, guess what followed, a tsunami basically wiping out the entire city of Lisbon clean,
That was the beginning of what we today think of as the modern day atheist movement

If there is a god, and we had this tsunami that killed 80 thousand people, and wiped out a holy city on a holy day collapsing buildings on people then either god is not all powerful, or god is not all good, that’s if we define good by being interested in your health and longevity, I think that’s a fair definition of being good, so what is he? Or is he even real? I think he is a figure of ancient imagination
