Good Friday Events To Be Held Island-Wide
[Updated] Tomorrow [Apr 3] will see Good Friday events held island-wide, with some of the celebrations set to include the Gilbert Lamb Fun Day in St David’s, Kitefest at Horseshoe Bay, PHC Fun Day in Warwick, PLP Fun Day at Victor Scott, with additional events set for Garrison Field, Dandy Town, Somerset Cricket Club and Bailey’s Bay field.
PHC will host a Walk/Run as well as a Community Day, with fun castles, a bull ride, kite flying, Gombeys, and more all on the itinerary [link to more information].
The Good Friday Family Fun Day at Somerset Cricket Club will also begin at 10.00am, with a wide variety of family fun on hand for all to enjoy [link to more information].
The PLP’s Constituencies 15, 16 and 21 will also host a Good Friday event beginning at 10.00am, with their free One Community Unified event to take place at Victor Scott until 6.00pm [link to more information]..
KiteFest will take place from 11.00am to 6.00pm at Horseshoe Bay Beach, with a kite competition, along with fun family activities and a fishcake competition [link to more information].
Another Family Fun Day is set to begin at 11.00am at Garrison Field, with activities including a fun castle, wheel barrow races, a wheel of fortune, and more set to run until 6.00pm [link to more information].
The St. David’s Cricket Club will host Gilbert Lamb Day beginning at 11.00am, with music by Jugglin Jason, kite flying, snowballs, running events, a beer drinking competition, and more [link to more information].
BELCO has urged the community to fly kites safely to avoid power outages and accidents; asking people to fly kites only in safe places [beaches, fields and playgrounds] and away from overhead power lines, busy roads and the airport. They also said that if your kite does get caught in power lines, do not tug on the tail or try to retrieve the kite, instead please call BELCO at 955.
