Kick Start Football Finalists: Wilson, Zuill, Kempe

Digicel Bermuda announced the three footballers selected to travel to the Caribbean to participate in the Digicel/Chelsea FC Kick Start Academy in October. The young men are Omar Wilson, Enyche Zuill and Andrew Kempe.

The aspiring young footballers were chosen among 30 of the Island’s top athletes, at the Digicel Kick Start Clinic hosted at the Bermuda Athletic Association last weekend. The boy’s athletic and technical skills were challenged in a two-day session with Chelsea FC coaches David Monk and Max Fouracre.

The three selected not only demonstrated outstanding abilities, but also a passion for the sport and positive attitude. Wilson, Zuill and Kempe will travel to the Caribbean in October to attend the Digicel/Chelsea FC Academy for training sessions and football matches, with their regional counterparts.

David Monk, Senior International Development Officer, Chelsea FC Foundation said, “Returning to Bermuda for the 3rd time in as many years was a fantastic experience for both Chelsea FC and the young Bermudian players in Hamilton.

“We enjoyed working with some very talented individuals, 3 of which will go to the next stage of the programme. Amongst the final 3 players we believe there are some expressive and creative lads.”

Wildcard entrants are selected from participating Kick Start Clinics throughout the Caribbean and Central America, based on their speed and agility with and without a football.

Wilson will be included in a social media competition with 13 other footballers, to have the chance to be one of the two entrants with the most votes to attend the Digicel Kick Start Academy.
