Court: 58-Year-Old Man Remanded In Custody
Appearing in Magistrates Court today [Apr 27], a 58-year-old man arrested in connection with the stabbing incident that occurred last week, was today remanded into custody.
Denis Davis was charged with intent to do GBH to the man and unlawfully wounding him. He was also charged possessing a black handled 5’ knife without reason or lawful excuse and stalking a woman between January 2014 and April 2015.
The incident occurred the morning of last Thursday on Cloverdale Road, in Devonshire parish.
Prosecutor Maria Sofianos told the court that on Thursday April 23, Mr Davis allegedly began throwing bricks at the man, then took out a knife and stabbed his upper right arm, stomach and upper thigh, causing profuse bleeding.
Mr Davis was later arrested on Devon Springs Road. No plea was required as the offences were charged on indictment, meaning they must be tried before the Supreme Court.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo remanded him into custody until May 11, where he will reappear for mention.
